PUBLIC NOTICE

The Jo Daviess County Courthouse will be undergoing a major remodeling and addition project beginning in the Spring of 2024.  As part of the remodeling project, County Government Offices and Courts will be moving out of the Courthouse.  

The County Clerk & Recorder’s Office, County Treasurer’s Office, Chief County Assessment Office, GIS Office, and County Administrator’s Office moved to the Galena Primary School Building at 219 Kelly Lane, Galena IL 61036 with offices fully operational on February 1st. 

Starting the week of February 26th, 2024, the Courts, Probation, State’s Attorney, Public Defender and Clerk of the Circuit Court will be moving to the former Galena Fitness Building, 9816 US Route 20 West, Galena, IL 61036, for the duration of the project.  The Courthouse will have limited services available during that time. The County’s mailing address will remain the same: 330 N. Bench Street, Galena, IL 61036. 

Court related services will be operational in the temporary location on March 1st, 2024 at 8:00 A.M
